In Memory of Jim K. Ligon September 25, 1947 - June 4, 2012
Jim K. Ligon was a graduate B pony clubber and served two terms as the United States Pony Club (USPC) of Governors President, 1978-1980 and 1987-1990. He was one of the founding members of the Redland Hunt Pony Club and he also founded its sister club, the Iron Bridge Hounds Pony Club. He served as the District Commissioner for both clubs. He received the USPC Founders Award in 1998 and was named a Pony Club Legend at the USPC 50th Anniversary Celebration in 2004.
Outside of pony club, Jim was actively involved in the sport of eventing and served as a cross-country announcer and cross-country controller. His memory stays alive as IBHPC pony clubbers ride on his previously owned property at the Avalon Farm.
